Leading Healthcare Firm

Since designing the first Mayo Clinic in 1912, Ellerbe Becket has been a pioneer in the field of healthcare design. The firm has completed new facilities and renovations for hundres of hopsitals, academic medical centers and medical group practice clinics around the world. In fact, Ellerbe Becket is now the leading healthcare designer in the Middle East with several major medical centers either underway or reaching completion.

Clients tell us that our healthcare design process is different from that of other firms. We plan and design in front of and with the client, rather than presenting our ideas, collecting feedback and going back to the office to work.

Because of Ellerbe Becket’s unique culture of innovation, the firm has designed many industry “firsts” that set the standard for today’s healthcare facilities (Ellerbe Associates introduced the concept of private bathrooms in hospital rooms in the 1920s and in 2004 the firm developed the “Patient Room of the Future” concept, which has become a reality at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio and is being implemented in other client hospitals).
